Mackinac Island

The Grand Hotel is gorgeous destination for weddings, anniversaries, and special events. Christopher Reeve's Somewhere in Time [Quelque Part dans le Temps] [En algun lúgar del Tiempo] was filmed there in 1980.

On the island you will enjoy the uniqueness of the lack of cars/trucks/buses since the only approved ways of transportation are bicycles and horses/carriages. Don't forget to try their famous Mackinac Island fudge. The biking tour of the island is a must do, it's an 8-mile perimeter, mostly flat and all scenic with one side of the trail on the lake and the other side on the woods. Just remember horses don't have bathrooms, so the streets may smell a little bit, but you get used to it and it becomes a feature of the island.

Reservations

A room block has been reserved for 3 nights (September 13-15), available on a first come first served basis. Options to extend for 2 nights after (September 16-17) at the meeting rate depend on hotel availability. Please contact the hotel directly to book your meal plan for the extra days.

Grand Room: $315

Lake View Room: $355

Golf View Balcony: $400

The above rates are based on single or double occupancy. Each additional guest (triple & quad) are $40 per person, per night.

A 19.5% resort charge is applied to the guestroom rate, plus Michigan’s 6% sales tax and a 3% Mackinac Island assessment.

There is also a one-time charge for round-trip baggage transfer from the docks to the hotel of $15 per person (including children).

Ferry

The main access to the island is via ferry (15 min ride) from St Ignace, MI (Shepler's Ferry last departure 6:30 pm or Mackinac Island Ferry Company last departure 6 pm) or Mackinaw City, MI (Shepler's Ferry last departure 7:30 pm, Mackinac Island Ferry Company last departure 7 pm). Double check the times when you make plans.
