An Update on Incisionless Ultrasound Guided Thread Carpal Tunnel Release

The Guo brothers introduced the incisionless ultrasound-guided thread carpal tunnel release technique in 2015 and presented it to the Sunderland Society in 2019. A criticism of the technique was that only one group was performing it, and no surgeons were using it. Additionally, Sunderland Society members expressed that more experiences were needed before further adoption. Between 2019 and 2024, the authors performed over 1,200 carpal tunnel releases using this incisionless ultrasound-guided technique at a single institution. They will discuss their learning curve, complications, outcomes, and their experience with the technique, as well as the unique opportunities for special patient groups.
